Bomb and mine clearance in Cao Bang and Lang Son starts
The Military Zone 1 under the Ministry of National Defence on November 12th, 2013 started the project on post-war bomb and mine clearance in Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces.
Addressing the ceremony to start the project in Quoc Khanh commune, Trang dinh district, Lang Son Province, Major General Pham Thanh Son, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the zone said that many unexploded ordnances remain under ground in Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces, hindering infrastructure development, resettlement and other socio-economic development activities in the locality.
Under direction from the Government, the Ministry of National Defence, the zone has coordinated with other related sectors to carry out this project with an aim to boost socio-economic development in areas along the border lines of Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces.
